Watershed Sciences - About Us Watershed Sciences data collection on the ground
Watershed Sciences’ mission is to apply innovative remote sensing technologies and techniques to natural resource applications. Using the latest airborne sensors to address applications in watershed characterization, forest inventory, hydrologic mapping, and urban and rural restorations. We provide a tailored, scientific approach specific to our clients’ needs.
Watershed Sciences in the field Since 1999, Watershed Sciences has been an independently owned company with offices in Corvallis and Portland, Oregon. Our Corvallis office is proximate to Oregon State University, where we work closely with faculty members and keep current with research advances relevant to our areas of expertise. Our Portland office is proximate to federal and state agency offices and to a large number of our private clients. Our services include acquisition and analysis of LiDAR, hydro-acoustics, and thermal infrared and multi-spectral imagery. In cooperation with our partners, we can deploy sensors anywhere in North America. We have worked with state and federal natural resource management agencies, private companies, local and non-profit groups, and tribal entities. Watershed Sciences is comprised of an interdisciplinary team of researchers and scientists with backgrounds in remote sensing, hydrology, geography, and environmental management. We have developed many of the techniques and tools that are widely used in the Pacific Northwest today. Currently we are participating in research projects that focus on the acquisition and use of high resolution LiDAR data for characterizing stream channel morphology, landscape features, and forest inventory. Helping to progress this science will lead to better solutions for resource management, while creating an interesting and rewarding work environment. Watershed Sciences on the ground and in the air
