Company Profile
Company owners Russell Faux and Matthew Boyd envisioned developing remote sensing services that would support a variety of ecological and resource management applications. By meeting client demands through innovative geospatial problem solving, Watershed Sciences has grown in size, expertise, and technical capabilities to include a talented group of geographers, engineers, foresters, hydrologists, biologists, and landscape ecologists. Our staff specializes in applied GIS and remote sensing with a focus on accurate high-resolution LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), aerial photography, and thermal imagery data products. We additionally offer services in feature extraction, data sampling, GIS analysis, and modeling using the data we collect.
Watershed Sciences is based in Oregon with offices in Corvallis and Portland which collaboratively support product development and consultation with clients. We have collected data throughout North America, but have a breadth of experience in the rugged and diverse Pacific Northwest terrain including Oregon, Washington, California and Idaho. Although we are capable of completing large projects, we are small enough to work directly and personally with our clients.
Our over-riding philosophy is to provide an unparalleled commitment to excellence through all phases of a project. From the flight planning and data acquisition to the final reporting and delivery, Watershed Sciences adheres to techniques and practices that ensure our products meet or surpass industry standards. We are dedicated to collecting data with accuracies and resolutions suitable for widespread public use in natural resource applications.
