Broadband Serving Area - Route 395/Eastern Sierras Area

High density LiDAR data allows for feature extraction of road edges and other paved surfaces, landscape features, vegetation obstacles and changes in terrain for the pre-construction phase of new telecommunication infrastructure. Using proprietary methodologies for vector mapping from LiDAR data, WSI collected and processed high resolution LiDAR data for approximately 600 linear miles along the highway 395 corridor in the Eastern Sierras region of California for installation of fiber optic cable. Vector data was generated from LiDAR points fused with imagery. This method allowed for rapid turn around and significant cost reduction compared to traditional photogrammetric mapping from stereo photography.
