Data Processing, Analysis & Visualization
Using LiDAR data, digital orthophotos, HD video, and existing vector layers, we can delineate a wide variety of feature classes that may be desired for a project. Commonly extracted features include transmission towers and catenaries, substations, pipelines, building footprints and heights, bridges, levees, fences, paved/unpaved roads, stream channels, ditches, tree canopy, and wetlands. Our overall approach to feature extraction involves the direct use of the high density raw LiDAR points as opposed to using intermediary surfaces (rasters) as primary sources.
Because we illuminate 100% of features with our high density collection, we are able to extract just about any subject matter within a project area. Features are classified through a series of automated and manual processing steps, with the ultimate product being a GIS-compatible 2 or 3D vector layer with relevant feature attributes. Common data processing, analysis and visualization capabilities and tools that WSI has developed are:
- Feature Extraction
- Hydro conditioning and enforcement of DTMs
- PLS-CADD Modeling
- Heat Source TTools
- Vegetation Characterization & Analysis
- 3D Visualization Tools
- Custom Compliance Reports
