Airborne LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is an active remote sensing technology that allows for cost-effective collection of highly detailed and accurate terrain surface data. WSI deploys the most advanced LiDAR systems on the market, and holds a reputation for delivering LiDAR data with high pulse rates, multiple returns per pulse, and superior absolute accuracies.
Because we own and operate our own fleet of aircraft and sensors, we can maintain control over schedule, project design and data quality. Our strategy is to build quality control into the entire process through regular sensor calibration, detailed mission planning, thorough ground control, and a rigorous assessment of laser accuracy.
To ensure the most representative products for our clients, we incorporate multiple inspections of our data throughout various phases of production. Our processed LiDAR data can support the generation of highly accurate digital elevation models (DEMs) for the bare earth as well feature extraction and analysis of vegetation, hydrology, electrical transmission lines, pipelines, 3D buildings, roads, and other infrastructure.
